Coal train


I saw these empty coal train passing through as I was going down the steps at the station. What I liked about the scene was the series of diagonal lines, some parallel, created.

    Gosh, I was at your place early this morning and happened to come back and realilzed it is tomorrow there today here.

    A bit confusing.

    I never saw a coal car like these but understand how they work.

    I love the lines in the photo...they work really well, Sally.
    There was so much more I could have written to you Sally about Frank Chappell, and about my connections with the Western Front. I travelled there in 1985,( when I did visit the cemetry at V-B) but have learnt so much more about it since( and continue to do so). I have promised myself a return visit within the next couple of years. There was one particualr inscription on a headstone at V-B that completed my emotional unravelling that day....I am desperate to try and find the words again.

    You know, Sally, European countries are not a very good example about energy, even those which have signed Kyoto' protocol...French electricity is 95% producted in nuclear centrals, we just begin to use the wind with some poor "éoliennes" (I don't find the word in English), but just for conscience's sake...One day, one day...too late I think.
