Spooky Sky

Early evening, after a storm, in my street. The sky and whole atmosphere took on a weird, pinkish glow.

  1. Is it political hot air? Amazing and strange effects above us, quite a photo opportunity. There are sights that one longs to hang onto.

  2. LOL, Julie, good comment! Very scary colours, like you'd see in one of those 'disaster' movies.

  5. the rain's there? Good!

hope it rains more too, the drought in Aust affects many countries too. we had a newspaper report last weekend that states vegies and milk will be more expensive as Aust faces drought, they will have less supply and we have to pay more for it.

  6. So beautiful colour. Unfortunately here doesn't rain at all and didn't snow last Winter too. Sigh.

  8. It sure is pinkish. There is an old saying about this but I think it was the sky. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning; red sky at night, sailor's delight.

  9. It's diffently pink. I thought you used a special lens on your camera at first.

  10. No filters or anything - just point and click....quite spooky as I said.

Abe: red sky at night, sailors' delight; red sky in the morning, sailors' warning. But this was more than just sky....it was the whole 'atmosphere'.

I have to admit to lookign round for the space craft...

  12. hey sally, thanks for the update on QVB. have a look at this:

according to my sources, the headquaters in Singapore is run by the people of IGB. AND someone just told me when I was in Sydney, that it's still Malaysian owned under their Australian division of the mother company. Who knows? But there are quite a number of buildings in Sydney that still belong to the very rich Malaysians (bastards!) like the Mulpha building for example.

Ipoh is a city in Malaysia. Great hawker food.

  14. That's scary (especially after Howard's "Pray for rain speech".)

In England it's supposed to be April Showers BUT....this April it's totally dry in the south east and the earth is already parched. Some people already have hoses out. Stand by for another "Drought Order" in force for the Summer.

    Fine archive picture, Sally.

  15. The colours looks a little bit unnatural, but I know that most unthibkable things are possible sometime!

  16. Ok, did a bit of research over with the spoilt brats I have for friends. Daddy sold the business to the Singaporeans but still sits on the board of directors. It's like Dynasty meets Dallas all this business. :)

  17. Nathalie - honest, I don't own Photoshop!

I think the camera did capture it a BIT darker than it was, but it was pretty eerie. Something must have been happenign at cloud level to act like a filter....

Or maybe I was wearing rose coloured glasses????

  18. Great catch. Where I live in Florida, US, we get a similarly spooky sky after storms but they're a deep yellow color.
