For me, one of the biggest photographic challenges is trying to create interesting pictures that provide a sense of the mood when it is rainy. Easy to photograph Sydney's beautiful bits when the sun is shining. I snapped this from my car when I was stopped at a red light and the young woman started crossing the road.
The most unbelievable fact, for anyone who knows Sydney, is that this was on the Princes Highway heading towards the city during morning peak hour a couple of days ago! Just a chance occurrence - I was stopped first at these lights, and cars in the opposite direction were stopped at a set up ahead, hence the appearance of no traffic!
Looks like the sun is out this morning, but more rain forecast.
here in Rotterdam it is spring but with 27 degrees it looks like summer.
ReplyDeleteThe tilted umbrella says it all!
ReplyDeleteToday, 25th of April, here in Torino was around 30 !!! Loving Finnish temperatures you've not idea how I love this photo that let me feel: Autumn, fresh, wind and rain. Past Winter and pas Autumn we don't have anything of that :-(
ReplyDeleteGreat document!
ReplyDeletethe umbrella is not holding to well tho
An interesting photo. Really gives an appearance of a ghost town effect! Two other interesting factors: its raining in "Sunny Sydney"...and also the woman is not Australian. An example of the mass influx of Asian immigrants in both Australia and New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteGlen: Australians come in all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. It's always dangerous to make assumptions based on appearance. She could well be a 5th or 6th generation Aussie as much as I am.
ReplyDeletephotographing while driving, even stopped at lights -- you could get done for that in the UK!
ReplyDeletenicely caught picture though
I like your photograph. Amazing. We both published photos in the rain today. You might be interested.
ReplyDeleteIt poured rain yesterday and I took some photos through the windshield experimenting.
