Reading Room, State Library

It's back to work for me today after a lovely week's break. I'm a researcher, so I'll no doubt be putting in some time reading today. Not at the State Library Readng Room like these people, however.
What's on for you this Monday?
(PS Eora is the name of the original Aboriginal clan of the Sydney area)

  1. The banner is wonderful, sally, and I'm glad that you explained it.
Monday, hmmm, I think I'll continue to try to plan to downsize. We're about ready to say "good-bye' to the house and look for an apt or condo. Lots to do for many Mondays on end!!

  2. I came to thank you for visiting my blog and for commenting. Thank you Sally.

Monday is like any other day. My wife, Patty, and I have been married for 52 years. She is about to finish her radiation treatments for breast cancer (on Wednesday) so we want to go somewhere when her blisters are healed up. This is her second breast cancer. The first was 10 years ago.

Anyway, what we do is almost anything we want to do. We can even stay in our pajamas all day if we want. Or, if it is nice outside, we can go out and look at the wildlife in the backyard or we can read, or watch television, or take a drive to somewhere. It is so nice to be retired.

I like your photographs and read that you are a research person. I have had to do that a lot of times when I write books. The last two books I wrote were about all the people who lived in this small village going back to 1848 and up to 1999. I spent a lot of time in courthouses, libraries and in genealogy houses. I love research almost more than history.

  3. Nice photo of the library, Sally. It looks so bright and open, yet so quiet; unlike the old dusty, noisy library at my old school.

  4. The State Library is one of my fave places in Sydney...always head there when I am in town on my annual visit.
Ooh, Sally, you want me to tell you my Wolli Ck stories?? They reflect very badly on me and the company i kept in the mid 60s! Is what we called Nanny Goat Hill still an undeveloped rocky little hummock?
