A city worker sits in the autumn sun, on the granite steps of the old GPO in Martin Place, catching up with a gossip mag, and eating last night's leftovers!
No, it's last night's left overs, I'm sure. It's very common practice. It will be a home made pasta. How do I know? Well, the container is a not one available commercially - it's one she's brought from home, heated up in the microwave in the office and taken outside to eat. The other clue is she ios using a real, not a plastic fork - it it were takeaway it would be plastic! I do this myself nearly every day!
Thanks for noticing the leaf! I thought it made the photo too! It's from a London plane, street trees all over Sydney.
Oh, and she's heated it up in the office, because she's grapped a tea towel to place underneath it! Not a paper napkin - if it were takeaway she would have just had a plastic fork wrapped in a thin paper napkin to deal with it.
Before I looked at the picture in detail it looked like a carton of chips and stuff. In many parts of the UK you find them discarded by late-night revellers who get their takeaways and only eat a bit because they're either not really hungry anyway or are two drunk to hold on to them.
Obviously this is not the case here and on looking at the full pic I soon realised this.
I do hope she isn't eating last night's leftovers.
ReplyDeleteAt first sight it looked like a carton of chips but on expanding the pic I see it is one of those awful healthy pasta snacks.
love the little leaf by the side reminding us that you are into autumn now.
Why, Gerald?

ReplyDelete***Oh, hitting head on keyboard*** - I see - you thought the leftovers were chips! LOL.
ReplyDeleteLast night's leftovers - that's usually my lunch the next day. I really enjoyed your posts in the last few days.
ReplyDeleteI woudn't mind having her leftovers. Looks like a nice prepared dish of pasta.
ReplyDeleteNice lunch break pic :-)
It happens the world over. We'll be able to do it when the days warm up a bit.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha... I knew it! Maybe when you saw them the other day, they got together to plan for today. So funny!
ReplyDeleteLove this shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective looking over her shoulder. Did she know she was being photographed?
Great fun reading about the clues re homemade lunch! It felt like reading a Sherlock Holmes book! Elementary my dear Watson
Pasta for lunch? Hmm, that will make me want to crawl under the desk and nap for an hour. I avoid carbs for lunch cos' it makes me sleepy.
ReplyDeleteHey Sally, nice photo. I have the same question as Nathalie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by Villigen.
