Having a snooze

I often see this man in the area around where I work.
What I found particularly touching was his plastic bag of possessions and hat placed so trustingly nearby. His body position is also very open. On railway staions they have now placed dividing arms on the benches so that people can no longer use them as a sleeping place.

  1. It’s certainly a touching sight and I particularly appreciate that you choose to show another side of urban life. The less fortunate one. We tend to look in the other direction. Focusing on something pleasant. Forgetting. Thanks.

  2. Sad. He has a good quality belt on. Hopefully someone has given him this. Surely the dividers don't stop the homeless sitting on them so why make them so uncomfortable. Doesn't seem fair.

  5. Yes it's sad but some homeless reject any kind of help preferring this kind of life... It's sad especially in Winter when lot of them die during the night.

  6. We sometimes don't know how fortunate we are. Times are often hard on people and for the most part they are never seen. It is a remarkable photograph that says something about the welfare of the citizens of earth.

  7. I agree with you, there's an openness in his sleeping body that I find very positive.

I HATE the dividers on benches, I think that people who live on the streets should have their lives made easier, not more difficult.

  8. Because our societies have homeless, it's a blight on our civilization. Not an easy solution, but no-one should have to live like that. You photographed him with care.

  9. This is a sensitive and touching photo. Did he know you'd taken his photo, I wonder?
I hate those bench dividers too.

  10. A very moving photo. I think we're living in such a fast paced world that you either keep up or you become homeless! Very sad state of affairs.
