Autumn in Chalmers St, Redfern
Beautiful autumn colour in Chalmers St, Redfern.
Most native to Sydney foliage is evergreen, but these street plantings of deciduous trees add lots of colour and enable winter sun through.
Purists mightn't like them, but I love it!
Any opinions?

Beautiful color mix and light. Love that photos.
ReplyDeleteWhile waiting for summer in Germany this is far away. I haven't had an outside swim yet.
Purists can go bite their bum. I love to see a mix of trees like this. sure they are probably Liquidambar trees which have a bad rep because the roots get into pipes, but they surely brighten up the streetscape. I am all for diversity.
ReplyDeleteha ha I do prefer Australian evergreens, but a] they don't make for beautiful, colourful photos and b] they don't cover the ground in a coloured carpet of leaves.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the lovely building in the background?
Hels: the building is the Woolpack Hotel (pub)
