Continuing on our walk, looking across Little Sirius Cove to Curraghbeena Point. Look carefully at the right hand side and you can see the apartment block the spider was "attacking" two days ago.

Curlew Camp, Little Sirius Cove (Walk Part 1)

Let's take a walk on a beautiful sunny day, from Taronga Zoo Wharf to Cremorne Point, around Little Sirius Cove and Mosman Bay.

In the 1890s, Curlew Camp was the haunt of artists Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and friends. Heavily influenced by French Impressionism, they set up their easels in the bushland and stayed in a fairly elaborate camp here on the shore of Little Sirius Cove.

The beautiful Strand Arcade

Here is the Strand Arcade, where yesterday's fashion shot was taken. Late Victorian architecture. I especially love the iron and glass roof, which reminds me of galleries and passages in Italy and France. Here we can see Sydney Tower through the roof. Below are the three levels of very expensive shopping!

Sydney's pyramid

Paris has its famous glass pyramid. Here's Sydney's. It is part of the tropical plant house at the Botanic Gardens. More info here.

In Sydney's climate, the glasshouse provides for appropriate light, humidity and ventilation, as well as protection from excessive sunlight, heat and dry winds, rather than protection from cold.

Friday morning drearies

Some days are just better forgotten ...at least Friday means the weekend! I had to drive in to work in the city yesterday, so here's a shot through the front windscreen in stop-start traffic. And in case you are wondering "I thought people drive on the left in Australia", it's a one-way street!

Sydney Tower from Hyde Park

Sydney Tower is atop an office and shopping centre in the centre of the city. It is a popular tourist site giving some great views for the city. You can even walk outside as part of a commercial venture - Skywalk.

I just liked the way the "wires" were framed by the trees in Hyde Park.
