Hollywood Hotel, Surry Hills

These beer signs used to be found outside every pub. They are becoming rarer nowadays, but here is a beautifully preservd one at the Hollywood Hotel, Surry Hills.

    Wonderful example of 1920/30's advertising. Let's hope a lot more of these have been preserved.

    they are great aren't they? The Kurrajong in Erskineville had a few fine examples too, but sadly they COVERED them with tacky fluorescent painted signs advertising pub specials. Very sad indeed. some people have no taste...
