Inside the button shop

This is where yesterday's door led. It is a treasure house of the most beautiful buttons, many vintage 1950s and 1960s.

  2. Ah, as I returned to the former door shot I realized that the door knob is indeed a button. Nice shot! Colorful!

  4. Very nice! They look like sweets...In France, we have this sort of shops, called La Droguerie, with pearls, wool to knit and thousand of buttons in big glass jars. I like to come in!

  5. alice - yes, I've seen those in France; they're beautiful. Ther eis a ribbon and braid shop just down a few doors from this button shop, but it is closing down. They always seemed to go so well together, it is a shame.

edwin: I went white after somoen suggested I lighten up. Just seeing if I liek it. Don't really. I like the format of the template, but I'd like a different (light) colour. I don't know how to change it other than by using the avail templates.

    thanks, lisi and kate :))

  6. Love the shot! One of the best things my mother ever told me was "good buttons can make a cheap garment look expensive." It is so true.

Sally, according to more than one photography book I've read, they advise black backgrounds are best for viewing pictures. The eye seeks light, so darker backgrounds are less distracting. So they say. I'd have a black background, but Wordpress doesn't have a black template to my liking.

  8. The button shop is wonderful!
My cousin goes there and picks up the cutest buttons. I recently picked up some lovely off white and navy anchor ones.
