What is it?

Riddle time! What's going on here, and where do you think I spotted it?

  2. Hrmm, well these are clothes pins. As for why they all have assigned numbers, I haven't a clue! For some kind of game?

  3. I think you are in a timber yard looking down on lengths that are stashed ready for sale.

Either that or in the AG-NSW at the end of the escalator on the basement floor where they have their large scale installations.

They look like bits from a folder of matches ...

    I have no idea!!

  4. Mmmm, very strange. As they are numbered clothes pegs. I would say that they are used for hanging up photographs to dry, especially as the largest number seems to be 36. As for location; Sydney University or the local TAFT (college)

  5. Old wooden clothes pegs and My mind immediately went to a photo studio where they would be used to hang photographs that have just been developed. Could be any photographer's studio but the Gail's Man suggestion of a Uni or TAFE college makes perfect sense.

  6. After reading everyone's else's guesses I'm going to say - if you are still in Paddington I like the pegs for photos idea and you are at the Australian Centre for Photography (ACP).

  7. Yes to clothes pegs. No to timber yard. So the clothes peg sale is correct.

  8. All I can say for sure is that they're clothes pins. But why they're numbered and what they're for, I have no idea!
