Suddenly, the weather remembered it's winter (Skywatch Friday)

3.36 pm today, Middle Harbour at The Spit, from Avona Crescent on the northern side.

Sydney was warm and sunny today. At 2.30pm it reached the maximum temperature of 23.4. At 3.30 when I took this it was still 23.3. And then the cold front rolled in, and an hour later the temp had dropped to 18.2. The clouds heralding the change were gathering in as I took this picture, which looks southeast. To the west, the sky over Spit Bridge, looking southwest was like this:

Have a look at other skies around the world here.

That's a great section of Middle Harbour. Love being trapped there whilst all the masts swan before me.

Very cool shot of the cold front moving in. Ominous looking.

It almost looks like 2 photos spliced together. Otherworldy.
I like it!

Isn't it grand? The change has reached us this evening. I hope to see those Paddington Gardens one day, would have never known about them.

What a great moment to capture! I agree with norm54, it looks like two photos in one.

Eerily beautiful.

That's a bit bigger than my harbour. Love the contrast of those white boats on the very blue water.

I really, really like the photo with the cold front moving in. I am sure you could have done without it though. Oh well. Wait five minutes the weather will change is the saying in the mid-western states in the U.S.A.

I like these photos, Sally. Especially the first one with the dark clouds rolling in.
