Blue Boxes

I've been semi-consciously trying NOT to post blue skies and blue seas lately, cos they feature so much on my blog and help make Sydney so beautiful.

I was really chuffed when I came across this most prosaic of subject matter, all in blue - cardboard boxes! I spotted these boxes of apples recently at Flemington markets. It was Sunday and they were waiting for Monday morning trading at the fruit and vegie markets.

PS - I've turned Word verification on again for people making comments. Sorry about that - I HATE word verification - it's annoying and time-consuming. But I've been targetted for Spam attack lately, so will leave it on for a while.

All these people around the world have also got the blues - help lift their spirits and check 'em out!

  3. The boxes are really, really blue--and stacked so nicely! PS Nothing wrong with word verification if it outwits the @!$#^%& spamers.

  4. Red apples in blue boxes marked export quality. Is export quality superior or do you save the best apples for domestic use?

PS: thank goodness for word verification. I hate spam.

  6. I'd never heard of sundowner apples before, but apparently they're grown here in the states; learn something new every day I guess. ;)

Those are some really cool boxes as well :)

  9. Sally, Lovely deep blue apple boxes. Now I'm craving apple juice and realize I'm thirsty! I've been having spammers despite word verification. . .people using the comments box to sell their wares and advertise their services. It's irksome. Well, its theme day, so you'll have plenty of legitimate comments from folks who love your blog!

  14. Hi Sally. I like the deep and rich blue boxes very much! I am really enjoying going to the DPs and seeing what people chose to post as blue. At our grocery store, we rarely get to see the boxes but now I will make a point to find any.

  15. Hey Sally!

I too was surprised buy the mention "Export quality". How should this be understood? "It's good enough for export, we keep the good ones for us..." or "Well, export customers are more important, sorry guys, you'll have to eat the crappy ones we keep for the domestic market" LOL and..; Sacrebleu!

  16. MMMM I had thought we'd get a blue swimming pool shot but you chose to surprise me!

Sally I have responded to your tag, you can read eight facts about me today.

    Cheers!

BTW yesterday's profile was brilliant and I also loved the olive grove before that. Very thoughtful of the council to have done that for the Greek community. And how the trees have grown!

  23. This is a really nice photo. I too find myself posting lots of blue sky and reflection pics. I suppose it's good to change, although why stop posting what makes your city beautiful! :)

  24. See the apples originate from Victoria. At least yours come from the same country. We get ours from all over the place, as the English apple seems to be dying out, due to orchards being turned into housing estates.
