Skippy

This wall of a now-closed business in Erskineville provides a fair bit of visual interest. Many may recognise 1960s TV star kangaroo, Skippy, and her "master", Sonny, in the top left corner!
More about the park in the foreground tomorrow.

  2. I taught Garry Pankhurst, who played Sonny. It was at Randwick Boys' High School and he showed he could not act when he appeared in a play I directed. He suffered as each time he approached a class te kids all made kangaroo noises. He reached a level of infamy later in his school career.

    1. Hi Frankie, did that infamy involve a missing exam paper?
