Sydney is a notoriously bike unfriendly city, with narrow, traffic-clogged roads and (perhaps paradoxically) fast-moving and aggressive car traffic.
So, it's good to see one local area (Bellevue Hill in Woollahra Municipality) making an effort. But where does it come from and where does it go to and is it a genuinely useful bike lane? I don't know, but would love to.

ReplyDeleteit is a problem the tracks cyclabes. With evry, they make full with work, but they have forget to make tracks for bicycles ;o((
You could be in London....
ReplyDeleteWell at least it's the beginning of something. It may come out of nowhere but hopefully it takes you somewhere????
ReplyDeleteIndy is horrid too...bike lanes are a joke here! I like the perspective on this shot Sally!
ReplyDeleteI have been very surprised to note this fact in Sydney and in other Australian Towns, the streets are wide, many space everywhere, and all is done for cars only...In the same way, we didn't saw roller skaters even if the sidewalk are verywide too...But like Nathalie says, perhaps a beginning?
ReplyDeleteMy city is also starting to encourage bike usage. However, I'm sure they will be used more for pleasure rather than work commutes. Our bike lanes tend to be next to the curb on streets which don’t allow cars to park on the side.
ReplyDeleteohh we have very similar road for bikes but its pinky, orange..gosh I forgot which color..I will show in some days:)
