For some more pics (including a fallen angel and angels who have turned their backs on the view) see here.
You can still get buried here, but plots are scarce, and it doesn't come cheap. Probably better to enjoy it while you're alive, and happily the Bondi to Coogee (and beyond) coastal walk takes you right past here (the path is defined by the white fence and orange stuff).
Now have a look at these theme interpretations from around the world. Time zones mean different places come on line at different times.

I think you are the first to post on theme this month - still mid-afternoon here as yet.
ReplyDeleteThe first of the Theme Day that I've seen and what an amazing start. Just stunning, Sally. Those early settlers sure knew a good place to be laid to rest, didn't they?
ReplyDeleteYour fallen angel - in your link - is a very moving photo.
I'll probably be posting an angel tomorrow too on Monte Carlo DP.
We went there, took some pictures of this cemetary, and it was a very nice view and place to think about what we are.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sally
An angel is a fitting post for this theme day.
ReplyDeleteWow, your photos are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteStunning views!
ReplyDeleteStill...I prefer to enjoy them from above the ground ;-)
Well today is the day to see if your bold statement is correct. Does Sydney's angel have the best view from a cemetery anywhere in the world ... I off to check cemeteries around the world.
ReplyDeleteHmmm to rest eternally in Sydney with a view doesn't come cheap eh?
ReplyDeleteHappy Theme Day!
The mountain views in Tenerife are prettty stunning!
ReplyDeleteYes it IS the most amazing cemetery for views I reckon. The mausoleums also fascinate. That coastal walk is a great walk. Sally, i will email you privately if that is OK.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Caba!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo Sally. And what a view! We have a military cemetery that looks over the ocean on one side and the city on the other. I didn't get there this time.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a cemetery with such a wonderful view. The tombstones are incredible in the extras.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, this is one of the best views from a cemetery in the world. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOk, I've decided, bury me there! I'd love to look out over the ocean for eternity. Excellent photo Sally.
ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful grave yard! What a view! Visit our perspective here at Toruń DP!
ReplyDeletec'est ce que l'on appelle le repos éternel, et avec cette vue. magnifique photo.

Dear Sally,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Thank you!
Thank you very much for supporting my blog. Hope your sister and her husband will see some of Baku today!
Glad you enjoyed my article. Hope to be a more professional writer one day :)
Have a good day!
this is a wonderful photo with great composition. One of my favourites on this Theme-day!
ReplyDeleteMy yours really do have a lovely sea view. The cliffs, if you look in the opposite direction to our mountains, are not too dissimilar.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos !
ReplyDeleteThose people must rest in peace, very peaceful sie with nice view, must be expensive eh?
I ever see 2 cemeteries with nice view: one in Crete Island (Greece) and other in Côte d'Azur, France.
What a wonderful graveyard! I like your angel on it.
ReplyDeletewow! stunning--the views here rival the views at the Menton cemetery!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, and you picked a perfect day. The add'l pics are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteMonte Carlo and Sydney are two great places for eternity!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Sally. I wonder what that angel would be pondering.
ReplyDeleteOh Sally, she's lovely! And what a setting. This is stunning. When we lived in Berkeley, I always thought I'd like to be buried in Sunset View Cemetery which looks directly out across San Francisco Bay to the Golden Gate. Your photo makes me think again. I spend a lot of time poking about graveyards for historical research, and this has to be, (next to Mendocino, CA, which also has a dramatic sea cliff view), the coolest place ever!
ReplyDelete-Kim
That is a beautiful photo and I quite agree, the view is breathtaking. Although I much prefer seeing it from your eyes than from one of the residents!
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning cemetery..the angels are very nice as wel..
ReplyDeleteI always like the seamens' graveyards in old fishing villages, overlooking the sea. Of course many of the inhabitants are "absent"
ReplyDelete"Here lies the body of Ezra Pound, lost at sea and never was found"
You're photo is just gorgeous. The water so blue! I like that the wings on the statue are turned up just a bit.
ReplyDeleteGreat spot for a cemetery; but you're right about enjoying the views now, rather than later.
ReplyDeletestunning, that a word for it.
ReplyDeleteIf one has to go, what a wonderful place to end up. . . . .
ReplyDeleteGreat photo....as always!
ReplyDeleteThis should win a prize for most beautiful cemetery ever! What a wonderful set of photos--the linked set is just as beautiful. Gave me chills. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to Arlington DP!
