Once the beachfront along the Grand Parade through Brighton-le-Sands, Monterey and Ramsgate was high sand dunes, which regularly drifted across the road. Nowadays they are lower, and stabilised with plantings of native vegetation.

Hi Sally! Just to let you know that I have tagged you over at Toruń Daily Photo. Pop on over and follow the instructions!
ReplyDeleteLots of levels in the photo. Is that a eucalyptus tree on the left?
ReplyDeleteActually, yes, Sally, my muse completely took over there for a couple of days...you know how it is I'm sure, LOL!
ReplyDeleteJust adored your picture of the spices at the markets...what a great prompt for our olfactory memory...yes, it certainly did it for me, too. I went 'back' to the Arab quarter in Jerusalem actually.
And I realise I didn't post a comment about the old Ramsgate baths...will go back and do that...I have LOTS of memories!
