An accident waiting to happen?

I looked up from my desk at work, and out the window, to see this window-cleaning effort in operation in the apartments across the street.
I've previously photographed the abseiling window cleaner cleaning my office windows, and I was astounded to see this operation, with ladder on a lean, no safety harness, and a rather loose grip at times on the ladder.

PS 1 March: I completely forgot that today is City Daily Photo Theme Day, and the theme this first day of autumn (sorry, northern hemispherers!) is Glass. As Jilly commented inside, perfect! So I moved the date and re-posted for yesterday.

  1. Yikes, you think he'd have a safety harness.

  5. The window washer's ballet, or death dance??

  6. He really ought to know better. as others have mentioned, it breaks at least 3 H&S rules.

  7. Looks like it's out of a comedy film. Good picture.

  8. You don't say this is part of the Glass Theme today but goodness, it's perfect for it. Super shots, Sally.

  9. You need to break a few rules every now and then. Or perhaps it's his version of living dangerously!

  10. This one reminds me a on of ACC CM on TV in NZ.
Guy was painting the house (well DIY show theme) and fall off. It's not so pretty. I hope it was nothing happened like this CM.

  18. Hee! I think this is an excellent choice for the theme day. And I agree, this is probably an accident waiting to happen.

    Happy theme day!

  20. By now, it is probably tomorrow for you and I'm just now getting to your post. Happy first day of autumn. Happy glass cleaning. In autumn in Greensboro, it is the season of spiders. Is that the case in Australia?

  24. I could do with a visit from this guy, judging from the state of my windows revealed through my theme day pic.

  26. Good grief! Great documentary photography of a fool at work. Look at the tense muscle in the leg that is balancing all his weight on one set of toes. Must be a former Cirque member. I'm hoping he continues to be a very lucky cat!
By hook or by crook, a great theme day post. March 1 tends to creep up on one, that short month before it and all.
Autumn isn't officially here until the 21st, is it? That's when our spring in the NH shows up on the calendar. . .if it will get here in reality remains to be seen :-).
    Great photos, Sally!

  30. Sally I can't believe your photo was unintentional, it fits the theme so perfectly!!!

On the portal it stands out beautifully - what a fun pose (if unsafe) - great calf muscles too! I love Aussie men in shorts, you know that LOL !
