Foggy Canberra

I woke up in Canberra this morning, where I'm working for a couple of days, to a foggy start. These shots were taken around Lake Burley Griffin (the artificial lake on which Canberra is located) as I took my morning walk. Lots more photos, including the Australian National Museum, and the view with and without fog can be seen by clicking here.

The Enterprise (above) takes you on cruises around the lake.

  2. This is an image of Canberra I wouldn't think of; but it matches your motto of showing varied aspects apart from the usual tourist images. Loved the Loch Ness style... ;)

Just a Lily today, plus a shaft of sunshine on my oak tree. A blessing for a bountiful crop — I hope.

  6. Hi Sally,
came back after seeing your comment on Oya's Istanbul.
You'll recognize that a Portuguese can't accept that a guy born in Lisbon, Portugal, as Fernando de Bulhões of a wealthy family, on August 15, 1195 and who had the accident of dying in Padua on June 13, 1231, could be named anything else than St. Anthony of Lisbon! ;)
Furthermore, he's responsible for my blog visiting and posting today, as it is St.Anthony's day, and the Lisbon local holiday!!
Travel guides sometimes are no good...
    Enjoy!

  7. Beautiful photographs. Before I visited Canberra I'd not have known how beautiful it is, particularly around the lake. Also what a fascinating building is Parliament House - or whatever it's called. I forget but loved my visit.

  9. Wonderful photo. For me it's always strange to see golden leaves now because here it's summer and 'downunder' it's obviously autumn.

  11. Oh Sally, that's exactly how things have been in South Shields for almost two weeks. The stuff keeps hanging on to the coast, desparate for some sunshine, but I caught plenty people sitting on the beach in the fog!
