Wonderful photographs of wonders! You've surpassed yourself today! That overhang is just stunning and the way you've photographed it is just great. Congratulations. I wish I were there.
Am not completely sure, but sandstone is all coral isn't it? And if so, those colors must reveal the type of coral that was laid down. I think this is an amazing shot and I apologize for not getting here yesterday. And thanks for your many visits to my blog.
Oh, that is beautiful, and the honeycomb is really special... rock formations with striations have always held a certain attraction for me. Although I've never been there, I've always admired pictures of the slot canyons in the Southwest US. That's also sandstone.
This overhang is breathtakingly beautiful. Although quite dissimilar, it reminds me of Mesa Verdi.

Lovely main picture Sally. I just love the lines of colour in the sandstone.

ReplyDeleteAbraham - no sandstone isn't coral (maybe you are thinking of limestone?). It is sedimentary, grains laid down under the sea over millions of years.
