No, not Sydney! This couple were having their wedding photos taken on the Spanish Steps in Rome, and we were sitting eating our picnic lunch, almost at their feet. (I have since read that picknicking on the steps has been banned for the summer period!)
Anyway, the point of the post is to let you know that My Trip Blog - Europe 2008 has been finished, and you can check it out by clicking on the link.

Be interesting to see what photos you've taken, as you would see places from the eye of a tourist, rather than a blogger. Or is it both?
ReplyDeleteWell I can't see to visit your new blog. I'm greedy to see those photos [in the meantime promise to start to plan next trip that will include Torino ;-)]
ReplyDeleteP.S. Ahh... You can rest fine now. No more suddenly awake in the middle of the night Sally: Frassati reached his "home" today ;-)
That was a really serious trip Sally!
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to take me longer to wade through those pics than it did to review your cards while you were away though.

Lovely shot. Looking forward to visiting the blog when I get time, don't want to rush it.
ReplyDeletegail's man: Interesting questions. It IS different takign photos in a place where there are a whole lot of less familiar conditions - quality of light, watching for 'new' things etc. Also less chance for stillness when you are with other people - I like doing my blog photography on my own, because then I can meander at will. But then there's also delightful aspects - sometimes, just occasionally you are int he right place at the right time to get something that a local wouldn't think twice about. Probably my favourite photo in that category is the one in Rome when I was lookign out a window and saw two men speaking so expressively with their hands, surrounded by cars parked at typical Roman angles, on cobblestones. So profoundly "ordinary" to a Roman, so worth taking a snap to me.

Awww, what a nice shot. I love the Spanish Steps! I actually had a relative way back that had a villa on the edge of the Spanish Steps. Can you imagine?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot of the happy couple. Actually, an excellent shot! We had a similar experience, but over by villa borghesse overlooking Piazza del Popolo.
ReplyDeleteah love !!!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the photographs of your voyage in Europe.
Superb which chance to make so beautiful and long voyage.
when i was in spain, i got yelled at by a parks guy for having a snooze in a park in Tarifa
ReplyDeletelovely photo. You manage to get a lot of detail in, without confusing the image.
ReplyDeleteI miss Rome. Such a great city.
