Many people enjoy a spot of gardening on a sunny autumn day. This fellow was digging at Sopranos restaurant in Elizabeth St, Surry Hills.
Meanwhile, we've had a beautifully warm, sunny Sunday. When the shadows came over my garden, we all went out and pulled up weeds and did a bit of a tidy-up. Even the cat "helped"by pouncing on hands every so often.

Lovely portrait of your husband digging the garden, Sally!
ReplyDeleteGarden gnomes always make me laugh. This one looks like one of Snow White's dwarves. There's a house in Gorbio village with the whole front garden laid out with gnomes, etc. So corny yet something adorable about it.
ReplyDeletenathalie - only you know how close to the truth that is!
ReplyDeletedo associations exist for the release of the dwarves of garden?
ReplyDeleteIn France these associations steal the dwarves and release them in the forest.
Nice cheerfull picture. We have had a nice weekend the UK. Calm before the storm. Large storm on the way. Do you get all the Oz nasties in your garden like spiders and snakes?
ReplyDeletebergson: I think there is a thriving "garden gnome re-location" programme here!
ReplyDeletecolin: snakes, no - they don't generally hang out in suburban gardens unless you are close to bushland; spiders - yes: they're everywhere but I've never come across a poisonous one (touch wood), and they don't seem to bother me. They make themselves scarce.
Is this one of those kidnapped gnomes, that travel the world, sending postcards as they visit exotic locations? Perhaps, next time, they could kidnap me instead...I'd happily write daily postcards!
ReplyDeletethese little guys always make me laugh also.. i think i'll invest in one for my garden this year...
ReplyDeleteYes Sally, I thought you'd laugh!
