Carousel

The carousel at Darling Harbour in Sydney dates from the nineteenth century. It is one of the few left in the world still operating with its original fittings. It was imported from England in 1894 and travelled the entertainment circuit around NSW for many years. In March 1932, it attended the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Last time I was down in Darling Harbour I went for a ride on it. Great fun!

  1. Hey Sally, that's a very good picture and an interesting story. Could you make a picture of the whole carousel maybe? I'd love to see it!

  4. I think there is an operating one in my province too. Carousels are a lot of sweet, old-fashioned fun.
