Under Construction - Theme Day

Sydney City Council has been renovating Prince Alfred Park in the southern city edge suburb of Surry Hills. It has included demolition of the old public swimming pool and construction of a brand new facility. It's due to open later this year, and I can't wait!

Today is City Daily Photo bloggers' theme day: Under Construction. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

A new pool--the best kind of construction!

You must be in 7th heaven with the prospect of a new pool.!!

Good heavens! Those old shots go back to 2006. I have not seen the reconstruction works, only when the pool had been emptied and pooped on by a myriad of seagulls and pigeons. Must go for a wander up that way.

Never too many swimming pools for a country with so many sharks.

It is (or ought to be) unbelievable how long the Council has managed to drag out the closure and then reconstruction of this pool. Why have they only started serious construction this year? You have to wonder if they are happy to leave the pool closed for any amount of time. That way Council can look as though it is doing something whilst not incurring the operational losses of having the pool open.
