Nor mine either Sally...or rather the one I used to go to. He is in Queen St...he used to be attached to Rosslyn, when it was a hospital, & it was a surgery in the attached newer building. My mum & dad still go to him...he now works only 2 days a week...he must be their age I'd say. I love how you still sometimes see the red lantern outside a private house too, or a brass plate. Ah, Sally, there's a blast from the past...remember The Brass Plate????
caba (and ann) will recall teh Brass Plate as the school magazine from a certain girls' school in the southern suburbs of Sydney. The idea was that if a girl got a professional qualification and wa selegoble to "hang their shingle", ie brass plate outside their door within 6 yrs or so of leaving the school, the school would pay for it! LOL
The sofa and bus stop it's in Victoria St near Denison St heading towards Turrella. I suspect someone has just jettisoned it there and expecting it to be picked up in the next kerb side pickup.
The doctor's light is in Done St, just around the corner from Firth - next to Huseini solicitors.
Well, it may not be the sign of the times as these "ads" are disappearing from view, but this one does give one pause. Do I walk in and ask for their weekly special or cut of the day?
The fact it hasn't been vandalised says something positive about the neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteI like old-timey signs. Very neat!
ReplyDeleteLove this old sign. Hope it stays.
ReplyDeleteLoved yesterday's sofa too and hope they leave it at the bus stop for passengers. Fat chance, I'd think.
Nice old sign and lovely when lit at night. Mostly now doctors seem to be in mega-practices in shopping malls. Dreary ...
ReplyDeleteCan't place it. Not my doc or the other practice I'm familiar with.
