I love these things!! We have them, too, in California. My favorite was a Coca Cola add on a full wall, pre-dating WW2 for sure, maybe much older. I pass anotherone every day in Chinatown San Francisco, that says "hotel rooms 15 cents a week" or something like that, small brick building sandwiched in between the high rises. Probably dates back to the turn of the century, before the 1906 earthquake.
You never see modern wall advertising like that now, unless its vandalism.
ReplyDeleteNice ad !
ReplyDeleteI like this remnant from the past; it's high enough so that the opportunity to add grafitti is difficult.
ReplyDeleteI also love seeing these advertisements from the past. There's just something special about them still on the old buildings. Very nice.

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! :)
I have a cardboard box from the Rex Simpson store at 249-251 Pitt Street, with my Grandfather's name on it - from a purchase I gather!
