Lunchtime in The Domain

As the sign says:

Lunchtime office workers play ball games, take part in fitness groups, box, run, or just lie on the grass and relax (or like your loyal correspondent walk and take photos) in the lovely spring sunshine. (Yes, there were more men than women running around, but there were also women being active - boxing, fitness class, running....I just didn't get any decent pictures!)

What did you do at lunchtime today, or plan to do?

  2. Oh Sally do I recognize these scenes and this sign! You're making me homesick for my home away from home!

Glad you enjoyed the benaut post. Isn't it lovely to have memories to share?

  3. I was very moved by the news of Alan Waddell's death. My deepest sympathy go to his sons and family. He was such an inspiration !

  4. I'm interested in the use of the word "domain" which is not used in the US. I'm also interested in the photos of the activities. Great!

  5. Dear Sally
i'm a commercial photographer in sydney, while looking through the web for graffiti in Sydney, your website popped up on Google.. and I spent 2 hours on your blog site.. very interesting.

I'm working on a project and your resources and assistance will be most helpful because it looks like you know Sydney so well - every corners of it..

Please email me at ed@edmundchiu.com i would like to meet with you one day to discuss further.

Look forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers

  7. I've always loved those signs and the similar ones in the Botanical Gardens. They are so friendly and welcoming.

  10. They're only small and there wasn't much left when I got there (just after 1.00 pm) but they had some interesting stuff and its all fresh. Think it operates from 10 till about 2.30. Every Friday. I'll go back again and take a chiller bag with me next time.

  13. What a wonderful sign - just strengthens Australia's reputation for friendliness. This is such a great resource to have in your city.

  15. I ADORE this sign! It's refreshing to see a park actually let people USE it! I always hated that in France. If you so much as brushed your pinky toe on the grass some indignant official would begin yelling at you to keep off the pelouse.

Looks like a very nice park as well. Sadly, I usually just eat lunch in my artificially lit cubicle while staring at the computer. I am trying to eat more healthy so going out for lunch is now a once-a-week occurance only.

  16. My weekday lunch hours are spent trying to find decent and interesting photos for my site & other ones I'm involved in. Saturday mornings are spent grocery shopping and Sundays cooking dinner.

  17. Love the sign. So sums up Australia to me. Can do, not can't do.
