They're just looking at the view...

....from Circular Quay station while waiting for the train; watching ferries come and go and the people walking along the Quay.
In fact it's the view on the masthead photo on this blog.

    il regarde charlotte. c'est une belle vue, avec ce type de pont que j'aime beaucoup.
    He looks at Charlotte. it's a beautiful sight, with this type of bridge that I love.

    I'm from the States and was visiting Syndey for the first time last Dec and have a very similar shot with my companion standing in front of the Charlotte. Taking a shot in front of the Charlotte is significant as we have a great frind from San Francisco by that name. What a coincidence. Can't wait to return to Sydney.
