Sydney Hospital and fountain (with jogger)

Yesterday we saw the facade of Sydney Hospital. Here we are inside the main courtyard, taken from the cafe.

  4. Nice seeing some of Sydney's heritage being retained with this beautiful building and fountain. I've just been down to the Queen Victoria Building in the city and have been so upset by the current refurbishment which is removing so many wonderful heritage features from that magnificent building. So disappointed to see the heritage fittings and colour schemes replaced by modern glass signage, frameless shopfronts, kitschy colour schemes and new mirrored escalators installed in the middle of the centre. In a few more weeks all teh original fittings will be gone and replaced by these renovations that detract from the heritage significance of the original building.

  6. Oh J-Bar, I haven't been in the QVB lately. I think I would be veryy angry, or just very sad - whatever I don't really want to see it.

  7. That's exactly how I feel too Sally. I am quite sad to see the heritage fittings disppearing and angry that it has been allowed to happen. I've been visiting the QVB over the last few days in my lunchbreaks to try and photograph what remains of the heritage fittings and colour schemes on two of the levels.
