The Harp

Painting on the outside wall of The Harp Irish Pub at Tempe. It faces the very busy Princes Highway and is always a welcome sight after the light industry of the area.

Not one of those prettified brewery-fake Irish pubs, The Harp attracts some high quality musical acts.

  1. This is a great mural for a pub - very charming.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the old American TV show called "The Jeffersons" or not, but the painted guy in the middle looks very similiar to the character of Mr. Bently on The Jeffersons. He also looks like he may have a massive hernia. lol.

  2. I read somewhere a few years back that ingenious business persons were building 'Irish' pubs in Ireland to cater for the tourist market because tourists from places like North America and Australia kept complaining that the pubs in Ireland weren't 'proper' Irish pubs like the ones back home.

  3. Cool! I would love to make a photo collection of murals... I've seen so much here in the DP family.
